Our business, VincentVanGourd, was created by Steave and Beth Radtke, both refugees from corporate America. Our work is a collaboration of a deep respect for nature, a child-like sense of wonder and passion to create. Our gourds are organically grown on farms from California to Georgia. The design process reflects the natural patterns of nature; both its graceful shapes and at times, its eccentricities. Our work combines wood, pods, feathers and stones with fine detailed woodburning, etching, carving and sculpting. The color is applied using hand tinted dyes, stains and inks. The satisfaction of transforming a lowly gourd into a piece of art is truly gratifying. Our studio is located in the Georgia countryside, where we reside with nature, our many cats and our gourds. If our art inspires you to respect and look at nature in a new way, then our work has been successful. The truth is, if it wasn’t for Mother Nature, our product wouldn’t exist.
