Marie Maines

My work consists primarily of landscapes, including natural and manmade forms. Each image evolves from something I have seen and responded to emotionally. My compositions arise from field notes, sketches and my own photographs of my inspiration. I tend to be a studio painter, assembling all my research and reference material into the magical composition that will produce an image that will evoke that original emotional response in me and, hopefully, in the viewer.
