In bold and strong, jet quiet forms I explore textures and pattern combinations. I perform all aspects of design and creation: utilizing laminated gold & silver sheet, I carve into the gold to reveal the silver. Thick sheet is rolled out until the layers are almost even. In the final pass through the mill textures are introduced. Often a second layer of hammered gold stripes adds complexity to the composition. These sheets are cut, formed, fitted and soldered into a frame. Using a multitude of ancient and modern goldsmith techniques, most of my work is hand constructed, architectural with precise aesthetic.
