Around 10 years ago, I woke up from a dream about cutting up my dictionary. I took out all of the bird images and collaged them back in, whilst cutting into the pages of the dictionary with an x-acto knife, starting from the beginning of the book and working my way through. That was my first piece, and I knew I could do better. Since then, I primarily use books that I can deconstruct using the exact images where they were located in the book. Three of the four images shown, are that case, and none of my work is planned out ahead of time. It’s amazing what you can discover with this process.
