Zanny Cox

I am an artist based in Austin, Texas. My work is grounded in the traditions of handweaving and goldsmithing, drawing deeply from my Mexican, Kickapoo, and Irish heritage. I approach my practice as a conversation across time, honoring ancestral knowledge while reinterpreting old-world techniques through a contemporary lens. Each piece I create carries a tension between preservation and reinvention. I am drawn to the quiet, deliberate processes of historical craft, as a way to reconnect with the voices and rhythms that shaped me. Through these methods, I seek to blur the lines between art, adornment, and cultural memory. My work lives at the intersection of the personal and the collective; where material becomes narrative, and technique becomes ceremony.
