My background in art was a musician. I played saxophone in blues bands. That is probably why I think of both my photography, and my music, as a form of improv. At a jam session, musicians react quickly to what the other musicians are playing. It is a dynamic process. You create on the fly. Hopefully the parts unify to create a cohesive, powerful sound. With photography, my creative process is the interaction between me, the changing light, and the forms I see through my lens. Sometimes you have to be quick. I strive to capture in the magic moment where it all comes together to create a photograph with emotional impact. My I shoot with both film and digital cameras. In some of my more recent work, I stylize my photograph with Adobe Photoshop to realize my vision. I print on Kodak paper and also offer some images on Breathing Color Lyve canvas.
