Renee Engebretson & James Engebretson
Our work is especially influenced by the woods and wetlands surrounding our home and studio. We strive to capture the essence or spirit of this place. Jim blows the glass vessels, using colored glass and many layers of clear. Once cooled, Renee prepares the surface to be etched by cutting a resist that will protect the areas to be preserved. The pieces are then sandblasted and carved. We primarily choose to work in transparent colors as it allows for a view through the pieces and adds to the movement.
