My work examines the imaginary face and figure. I work with porcelain and stoneware clay often combining the two. My pieces are created using slabs, wheel thrown forms, and pinched masses. I apply texture and intricate glaze patterns to the surface of the pieces. This allows me to act as both sculptor and painter. The human face and figure is the vehicle for exploring my imagination and its translation of the natural and spiritual world to form, pattern, and rhythm. I seek to bring “life” to my pieces, infusing them with a little of my soul for a life independent of their maker they can offer to their new owner and eternity.
