Hand turned wooden hollow forms made on a lathe with hand held tools. The vessel is first rough turned and left to dry for one to 9 months. Once dried the piece is remounted and finished turned to remove the distortion that happens in the drying process. Sanded to a scratchless surface and now the finishing process begins. 8 to 15 coats of a finish are applied then buffed to a high gloss.
