David Yuan

I use the finest oils and canvas to create my artwork. Using a palette knife, I try to capture all the details of my subject, while keeping the unique texture that my technique yields. Within my paintings, I try to create an atmosphere with the subject, background, and colors to elicit different emotions from my audience. Because I live near the beach, my subjects tend to be boats, but I also paint other things that catch my interest. I enjoy painting, and I find it important to capture the essence of the subject and its surroundings while changing it enough to pull an emotion from its viewer.
