My sculptures evolve through a layered, multi-stage process that begins with assembling a variety of wood types into a rough, dimensional form. Through carving, I refine the structure until the intended shape emerges—often playful, nostalgic, or fantastical in nature. A signature element of my work is the surface treatment: hand-flattened bottle caps, both vintage and contemporary, are meticulously arranged and affixed to the form. Their diverse colors, graphics, and textures allow me to construct virtually any subject matter with precision and visual intrigue. Inspiration is drawn from everyday life, pop culture, fantasy, and moments of imagination—each informing the tone and narrative of a piece. I often leave areas of wood intentionally exposed to create contrast, drawing attention to the organic beauty of the material and its relationship to the industrial aesthetic of the metal. In recent works, I’ve incorporated colored epoxy resin as a final surface layer. This addition introduces vibrant depth and clarity, enhancing both the chromatic intensity and the sculptural texture beneath. The high-gloss finish not only unifies the surface but creates an interplay of reflection, color, and form that invites closer engagement. Each piece stands as a fusion of craftsmanship, storytelling, and material experimentation—celebrating the collision of tradition, memory, and modern visual culture.
