10 Great Reasons to Invest

AN EVENT WITH FLAIR…

Annually in April, thousands of people converge on downtown Fort Worth stretching nine blocks on Main Street from the courthouse to the convention center to interact with the arts alfresco during the MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival. The streets of downtown are filled with fascinating sights and sounds as more than 500 fine artists, musicians, dancers, theatrical performers, exhibitors and restaurants take part in the four-day celebration. Two hundred of the country’s best artists line the historical red bricks of Main Street weaving gorgeous blends of texture and shape down a magnificent mile of visual art booths, performance stages and lively characters to create an explosion of color against the turn-of-the-century buildings and modern skyscrapers of downtown.

…WITH A ROBUST HISTORY!

In the early 1980’s, the city of Fort Worth began its campaign of urban revitalization in the Central Business District of downtown. Prominent leaders and citizens planned a special event—Festival Fort Worth—to celebrate the rich culture and colorful heritage of Fort Worth and herald the beginning of city’s rebirth. Downtown has blossomed into a thriving business center and cultural marketplace of art, music, dance and theater, while the annual MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival has become Fort Worth’s most beloved event of the year and the largest, free, four-day visual arts and entertainment festival in the Southwest.

FORT WORTH – WHERE COWBOYS MEET CULTURE!

From cowboys to culture, Fort Worth has it all. Downtown’s nationally recognized urban renewal— a transformation from ‘Cowtown’ to what has been penned as “WOWTOWN”— is gaining increased consumer awareness and broad-based business and residence appeal. As one of the safest and most beautiful inner-city districts in the country, the cultural setting of the MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival enriches the lives of thousands of guests each year with a growing number of downtown attractions including galleries, museums, retail shops, nightclub hotspots, state-of-the-art movie theaters, world-class hotels, four-star restaurants and the spectacular Nancy Lee & Perry R. Bass Performance Hall.

WE’VE RECEIVED NATIONAL RECOGNITION…

MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival is the largest, free four-day visual arts and entertainment festival in the Southwest. MAIN ST. has risen to be one of the top-rated, fine arts festivals in the country and has received worldwide acclaim and recognition. MAIN ST. has been officially ranked as the 3rd best fine art event in the nation and the number one show in Texas. The American Bus Association also named MAIN ST. one of the top 100 events out of over 60,000 across the country, making it a ‘must see’ stop for vacationers, group tours and meeting planners as well as citizens and residents of Fort Worth/Dallas.

…AND HAVE A SOLID ORGANIZATIONAL MISSION.

As producer of MAIN ST., Downtown Fort Worth Initiatives, Inc. (DFWII), a non-profit organization, relies heavily on individual and corporate contributions to maintain the quality and diversity of the arts while keeping the event FREE to the public. For this reason, MAIN ST. is proud to assist in making the community a better place to work, live and visit through support of initiatives that continue improvement efforts in downtown.

PROVIDING ART FOR THE (DISCRIMINATING!) MASSES…

Art enthusiasts can choose from a variety of creative and original works of art including sculpture, painting, photography, woodcarvings, glasswork, jewelry, multimedia compositions and more. Over $4 million of art is sold during the festival, ranging from quality reproductions and limited editions to one-of-a-kind treasures. A highly competitive, juried art show, the MAIN ST. receives over 1,500 applications from which an esteemed panel of national judges selects two hundred of the country’s best artists.

…AND ENTERTAINMENT WITH A ‘BUZZ’!

The entertainment schedule features over 100 different local, regional and national musical acts from alternative rock and folk to cool jazz and hot Tejano rhythms. Dedicated to enhancing the festival experience, MAIN ST.’s performing arts stage offers an eclectic array of programs in dance, theater and performance art. Audiences take a cultural journey through authentic native rhythms and dramatic performances that shatter the boundaries between music and theater. And adventures for children include exciting interactive shows with magical characters that leave them mesmerized — plus plenty of creative and artistic activities to stretch their imaginations.

OUR COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT IS OUTSTANDING…

One of the most important elements in the success of the MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival has been the strong show of support from the community. MAIN ST.’s event management team of award-winning staff and seasoned volunteers work year round to ensure the smooth running of the festival. Large companies, area businesses and local residents also give their time and effort during the festival providing 1,200 volunteers during the four-day operation. Because MAIN ST. is a free gift to the community, it further relies on the generous contributions by many of the nation’s leading corporations.

…AND WE HAVE AN EDUCATED AND AFFLUENT AUDIENCE.

Festival attendees represent the dynamic appeal of the culturally diverse event that offers over 500 different artists, entertainers and performers. From the mature art collector to the next generation music lover, MAIN ST. has something for everyone in the family. Festival attendees enjoy original works of fine art, top entertainment, interactive games and exhibits, food and fun.
