I am continuing in my quest to solve issues of ÓVast vs IntimateÓ. This theme has been of interest in other bodies of my work and is now present in the lamps. Having access to aerospace epoxy composites and carbon fiber scrap, I cut, collage, and heat cure this material into shades with one of a kind mono-print results. The bases are handmade ceramic, glazed and raku fired. Final assembly includes the finest cast nickel plated sockets with 150w rheostat dimmers. Overall, these lamps have a gestural figurative quality and the shades cast a warm intimate glow.
