I’m a pyro with a passion for process. My approach to producing is self-seeking. Truth is… I’d rather make the work, than write about it… and would rather you use it, than read about it. There is no underlying message or moral to ponder. The work is about the work, it’s about the process, it’s about the work in progress. I aspire to create uniquely cohesive, meticulously detailed objects. Using traditional glassblowing tools, I’m the designer and maker from start to finish. Clean lines, refined forms, hand-cut patterns, and sand-carved surfaces comprise the visual elements in my work. Techniques include color overlays, cane and murrini mosaics, incalmo joints, and switched axis transfers. The rest is about trial and error, patience, persistence, etc., etc., blah, blah, and blah. Continually searching for new ways to leave my mark… each piece inspires the next, one piece at a time.
