Tim Hooper

I create visual narratives shaped by my interest in historical figures and popular icons, as well as outsider art, b-movies and American roots music. My work is a landscape of decaying buildings on city streets littered with countless characters both real and imaginary. It is stream-of-consciousness storytelling inspired by dreams, but rooted in real life experiences. Major themes that I explore are loneliness, vice, self-destructive behavior and human folly. These tales are told through the voice of a middle class kid from Nashville, in the only language I know.
