A little bit of light goes a long way in the dark. My paintings are just that, they bring forth the light in dark areas. With that being said, my work also predominantly reflects my spirituality. I do not want a person to look at my work and gain nothing out of it, I want a person to walk away with something learned; something they can take home with them and think about. That is one of the reasons I use the technique of thick and prominent brush strokes; so that a person can see and feel every part of the painting. The thick brush strokes and striking contrasted colors are what bring my paintings life. They are what pull you in to the painting. It’s as if each stroke of vivid colors are my whispers to the world and the painting, as a whole, is my voice shouting to be heard.
