Terrie Mangat

When I was six years old, I asked for fabric for Christmas and knew then, that I wanted to be an artist. Since that time I have continued to study art by earning a degree in printmaking, attending museums, traveling the world and creating through many different mediums. I currently make contemporary quilts and draw fabric designs with gouache paint.

In the quilt world I am known as the pioneer in embellishment. I love the potential offered by color, texture and the scale of imagery in quilt making. The medium of fiber art offers even more opportunity for mark making when you consider the possibility of integrating ingredients gathered throughout the world, painting, beading & exploring various stitching styles. All of this richness continues to lure me to expression.
