First, I collage a background of book pages. I like late 19th century and early 20th century books for their beautiful intricate engravings, drawings and the golden brown paper. Over the collage I paint with acrylic paint, oil sticks, and watercolor. I allow the paint to drip and puddle so the form is organic. The pieces take on a watery garden, luminous, surreal landscape quality. This work is an imagination of a new paradigm.
