Steve Palmer

My work reflects my interest in abstract design. I treat these vessels and sculptural forms as a painter treats the canvas creating abstract “paintings” captured within the surface of my glass work. The most recent doll forms were inspired by the indigenous peoples of the southwest. These pueblo dwellers made colorful small wooden dolls called Kachina. In my many travels through New Mexico I visited museums and galleries where examples of these dolls were on display.
