I’ve been a leather smith for as long as I can remember. In the 80’s my wife and I started a custom shop in Santa Cruz, California, migrating in the 90’s to another storefront in the Florida Keys, and holed up in an underground house in Tallahassee by the year 2000.We specialize in many one-of-a-kind pieces including sculptured handbags, framed briefcases, doctor bags (utilizing original antique hardware) and unique travel ware.All work is drawn up on a bench, and then built using techniques learned through 25 years in the trade. Our work includes a lot of appliqués in wood, stone, exotics, etc., blending them to fit the design of the piece. Our goal is to bring back some of the old world craftsmanship, which is largely forgotten or misplaced in this mass produced society. We are here to express the finer points in building something by hand with pride and dedication. All work begins and ends on my bench.
