Scott Wheeler

I photograph on location using traditional film cameras. My equipment includes medium format Pentax 67 and 35mm Nikon cameras. I print my
photographs on Fuji photographic papers and display my limited edition prints with museum conservation materials.

My creative process takes place on location. Sometimes I will pre visualize an image and return to that area many times before I am rewarded with the right light. Other images involve a bit of serendipity and seem to come to
me like a gift. Creating a photograph involves slowing down my mind, looking for something that is interesting, and seeing deeply. Sometimes,
something that is subtly wonderful can be dramatically wonderful in a photograph by composing the image artfully.
