Sarah Hassler

My present work is the culmination of many years of experimenting with the use of non-traditional material in jewelry. Through the use of cold joinery techniques, such as riveting, I combine hand cut, hand dyed, found acrylic and bakelite parts with sterling silver to create my designs. I have always been interested in using repetitive forms in unique combinations, crating pieces with common elements yet distinctively separate from one another. When I am searching for materials I always have the thought, What could this become? My main goal has always been to design art with clean lines that is durable, and comfortable to wear.
