As an artist working in the medium of transparent and opaque water color on paper, I believe the successful rendering of a subject is achieved by good planning and an intimate knowledge of the subject matter. I glean a greater understanding by painting numerous miniature studies on site and once IŠ—Ève become comfortably familiar with the subject at hand I do the finished painting within the confines of my studio. I apply the water color pigments by utilizing multiple wash, glazing, dry brush and lifting techniques in an effort to create a realistic, yet painterly portrayal of the subject. I focus on achieving a strong emphasis on atmosphere, light, depth and volume within each landscape. It is my goal to create an image that is inviting and makes the viewer feel that they are an intimate part of the completed painting. My signed and numbered reproductions are created utilizing the highest quality gicleeŠ—È process and printed on specially treated acid free rag paper.
