Medium: Paintings on paperboard and canvas using Water Soluble Oil Body Pigments. My paintings are the end result of my own thoughts, ideas and creative inspiration, which I transfer to paper or canvas through the painting process. I am the sole creator of these works and use only the highest grade of materials to produce each piece. I conceive and execute each work by myself without mechanical or human assistance, and utilize help only in the framing process.I was born in South Korea. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of South Dakota. I completed my MFA in 1988 and have made my living as a fine artist since then, with many awards from art competitions and many collectors, corporate and private, throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.I use water soluble oils on paperboard or canvas to produce my abstract paintings. The style and techniques I utilize in translating my feelings to images have grown from within myself as a result of my emotional response to my work and my life’s experiences. The actual source of the energy that inspires me, and the effect that my work has on other people is not my primary concern in creating my art. While I am pleased when people find something beautiful in my work that they can relate to, my purpose for creating is not to decorate, but rather it is to visually express my feelings. My paintings are a composition of geometric forms, organic shapes, gestures, and texture, combining in a kaleidoscope of color to create an image of harmony, energy and optimism.
