Each digital piece begins with either original digital images I have taken using a Canon 60D DSLR camera, or original images and antique photos which are combined into a single composition using Photoshop. I then print the composite image onto paper with archival inks using a large format Epson printer. The image is mounted onto a wood panel, sealed, and then layered with any combination of collage, gold-leaf, gel transfers, stains, waxes, and dirt. As I build the surface of the photograph up, parts of the original image are inevitably worn away, leaving a finished photograph that is weathered and aged, much like memories with time.
