Clay is my medium of choice. I use a variety of forming techniques including slab construction, throwing, and coils to create my forms. I will also periodically marry other materials such as copper or iron to the clay to achieve my intent. Raku is my process. I’ve yet to find a process as exciting and as satisfyingly real as the traditional carbon blacks and white crackle glazes. My forms for the most part are sculptural in nature. I’m interested in taking a visually heavy form and giving it a sense of lightness.
