Michael Mikula
I use molten glass, blown into hand carved graphite molds as a means for expressing my interest in decorative architectural forms from ancient to contemporary. These individual glass elements contrast the applied high relief geometric outer surface with the natural fluid line of the blown interior. The central focus of this body of work is the larger glass and metal sculpture. They are accompanied on the display with individual sculptural vessels. All major works are one of a kind. Vessels are made in limited numbers.
