My art combines representational imagery with refractive optical printmaking. My two newest series are: “Passages” and “Portals”. “Passages” dissolve from one image to another as the viewer walks by. These images artfully explore dualities as the subject undergoes changes with the passage of time. “Portals” use a blended series of multiple images and a passive projection technique to recreate a scene in 3D within the window of a shadow box frame.Process and Materials: I use a variety of tools and techniques to create my pieces. My art begins with multiple images that are layered and blended. The images are printed on sheet film and hand mounted to a refractive acrylic sheet. The art is then mounted, matted, and custom framed for display.
