Process of Work: I use the medium of color photography to express, share and celebratemy vision of the wonders and beauty of light. I photograph both in the studio and outdoors. Each photograph starts as an idea. I then select a particular camera based on the requirements of the composition. I select the photographic parameters almost instinctively preferring great sharpness and depth for most of my work. This nearly always requires the use of a tripod to steady the camera. My studio compositions ususally involve multiple strobe lights filtered with gels or polarizers. I fine-tune each photograph by cropping the image as I see fit during the printing process.

Materials Used: I use a variety of photographic tools to create my art. My camera include a 4×5 Super Graphic, Mamiya 7 rangefinder, and a Canon SLR system. I prefer fixed focal length lenses for maximum sharpness. I use Elinchrom studio flash heads and Pocket Wizard radio systems for triggering cameras and studio strobe lights. My photographic imagery is printed primarily on Kodak materials including Supra Endura photographic paper and Kodak Xtralife papers. I also print some images on watercolor paper using high fidelity pigmented ink sets. I have selected a spatter coated zinc/alumninum molding and non-glare glass for framing my fine art photographs.
