Matthew Smith

I began my career as a graphic designer, and it is this background that guides my current career as a jewelry maker. My pieces begin as rough sketches on paper. From there I work to refine the shapes and proportions, paring down the design to a minimal expression of the concept. The graphic elements of each design such as line weight, color, and pattern are then translated into silver thickness, resin tint, and wood grain. The result is a piece that is modern and minimal, yet also warm and pleasing to wear.
