Marirosa Hofmann

I find working with many layers of patterns, colors, textures, medias and collage to be a very meditative process. Through this process, I create the illusion of atmosphere and depth in fields of overlapping colors and textures. My goal is for the viewer to get immered within the nuances of my work. Making the back grounds engaging, so the viewer remains looking within the painting for new things to capture their interest. In some paintings I use as many as 6 mediums such as fine art papers from around the world, grease pencil for detailing and different types of textured mediums.
