A lifelong fascination with architecture, design and craft motivates me and my creativity. Inspiration is a mystery: a seemingly organic process it appears on gossamer wings, suggesting ideas and forms out of apparent nothingness, often arising from silent moments between thoughts. My hands translate intriguing mental images into unique designs in metal.Hand fabricated of sterling and gold in conjunction with other materials (from precious to mundane), my work marries a variety of elements, textures and colors in the creation of uniquely contemporary jewelry. Hollow forms, structures in many designs, demonstrate metal’s unique ability to stretch and take on shape while retaining strength and lightness. Many pieces are perforated, a technique that describes the exterior of a piece while providing access to the secrets of the interior.To be fully alive an artist must be open, cu rious and courageous, and must reinvent herself frequently – this is both daunting and exhilarating. My interest in art and design, appreciation for lessons of the past and a cu riosity about the mysteries that lie ahead are constants as I humbly set foot into the unknown and the drama unfolding before me.
