I start my sculptures by drawing a life size image of how I see the final piece. The glass component is made of up to 40 layers of glass that I intricately cut, stack, and assemble in a way that creates an inner structure. I fuse the glass into a solid bock and then extensively cold work the glass. I create the metal component by cutting and welding steel and then using patinas and pigments I burn the finish on to the metal.
