Every spring the burst of colors back into our world fills us with joy and the memory that color is truly the magic of life. At Tray Cool Glass studios, David and I cut large sheets of colored glass into pieces and shapes. We then organize and layer them into designs we have created. These pieces are fused in a kiln for 22-24 hours. After fusing, each piece “rests” for about two days and then we put them into the kilm again and form them into the shape we desire. This takes another 22-24 hours. Each piece is designed; hand cut and fused individually allowing us to play with the colors, shapes and ever changing light. Not until we open the kiln do we know how the designs and colors will mix with each other bringing us back to the color, magic and joy of Spring.
