John Herbon

My work is made from a blend of white stoneware and porcelain. Wheel thrown, slab hand built construction and sculpt, hand build and alter. A black copper glaze is applied after a bisque firing. The piece is then fired to 2300 degrees in a gas oxidation environment. I find inspiration in both great artists of the past and the beauty of nature.
