My photography skills were developed, out of necessity, doing ethnographic research for 10 years at the college level, while teaching cultural anthropology/sociology.
The imagery exhibiting painterly and/or impressionistic like characteristics has been achieved by utilizing reflective surfaces, enlarged pixels, and diffused glass to create this unique body of work.
Cultures born in antiquity have a timeless appeal, whether it be Monet’s pond, endless fields of lavender in Provence, sunset over Santorini’s caldera, or a quiet corner of Granada’s Alhambra. Sacred places such as these are truly property to none and privy to all; communal experiences to be passed through the eyes and heart, from person to person.
