Color is my passion and it’s bright, bold color that fascinates and excites me. Painting is like playtime for me, with my canvas a playground of expression. It’s a place that allows me to express myself freely and create artwork that is a fun, joyful and whimsical celebration of life. I create art from what I have witnessed or experienced in real life, capturing the essence and spirit of people, personalities and life events. In my current body of work, my primary subjects are people. Using vivid acrylic paints on canvas I explore diversity, painting multi colorful, cheery people in joyful situations.I enjoy adding small details to my compositions, often times emphasizing something distinctive on my figures. My painting is done in a figurative, expressionistic style. Using the same vivid color palette and people as my primary subject matter, I also create a series of works that are more serious in content. Painting intuitively by using a process I have developed called Painting Inside Out; I explore the relationship between the unconscious and subconscious. My paintings evolve from randomly placed brushstrokes, shapes, forms and layers of color filling my canvas. Images emerge, morph, vanish and reappear throughout this process. Each painting goes through many changes and takes a very long time to complete. This body of work is done in a more representational style.I find great pleasure in creating works of art that people can connect to on both a personal and social level. My mission is to continue to grow and evolve as an artist who can bring forth the spirit of life through my artistic creations. I offer original works of art, as well as signed limited edition Giclee reproductions on canvas in selected sizes.
