Jeri Salter

After painting in oils for many years, I discovered pastels and haven’t looked back. Regardless of the medium, the natural world continues to be my love. I am drawn to the vast open spaces & mountain ranges of NM and west TX but continue to find inspiration from the vanishing areas near my home in central Tx . Exploring different weather conditions such as fog and thunder storms intrigue me as well. I love the mystery of fog and the sense of change in the air thunders storms generate. I am also working on themes involving roads especially in west TX. These rural roads capture feelings of wanderlust as well as expressing an internal searching. I believe when we examine what draws us to a painting, we often find clues to our own thoughts and desires.
