I paint on wood, canvas, linen and paper using layers of acrylics in brilliant, energetic colors. I write and draw into the wet paint, using line to form a structural language as I reveal colors in the layers below.My work talks about energy. This energy comes from inside as well as from the dualities or contrasts that surround us in our lives such as night and day, hard and soft, separation and connection, intensity and rest. I express this energy in my painting in the form of dynamic, asymmetrical composition (intensity and rest), vigorous brush strokes, unexpected color combinations and line that is both structural and lyrical. I bring these dualities to light with a language of color, imagery, line and mystery. A language of wind and water.
