I harvest the wood that I use for each hollow vessel from downed trees wherever I can find them. Giving second life to a tree in decay through a pleasing form and grain revealing finish is a thrilling endeavor for me. Each green piece of wood is rough turned on the lathe and initially hollowed. After drying thoroughly, it is re-turned to finished form on the lathe. After this, a long process of applying 6-8 coats of Epoxy begins. After the pieces are sanded, polished, and waxed they are ready to show and sell.
