Hetty Metzger & Norman Metzger

The human endeavor always seems to have included ornamentation of form as an expression of artistic pursuit. We have embraced that notion. We work with paper. Growing up with the admonition to not spindle, fold or mutilate must have awakened some rebellious behavior in us. We use paper for shingling, corrugation and box making. All have practical functions. For our purposes, however, the paper elements we make only serve ornamentation of form. We use the elements singly or in combinations as an expression of our unique aesthetic.
