Greta Cannon

I am a devout traveler and I draw inspiration from my various experiences and interactions with different cultures and people around the world. Geometric shapes and patterns found in flowers and succulents have a huge impact on my jewelry pieces. I like to combine contemporary designs mixed with ancient and ethnic cultures. I primarily use black rhodium, 18k gold, sterling silver adorned with south sea pearls or hand-cut precious gemstones. I begin with metal sheets and wires and then I use a variety of techniques such as cutting, soldering, sawing, & forging to create the basic form of each jewelry piece. I add texture using hammers, stamps, and punches & I clean up & refine my jewelry using sanding and filing. I finally bezel set hand cut stones and give it a final polish. I love incorporating unusual gemstones either raw or faceted with the contrasting dark metals in each piece. I make comfortable pieces that are truly one of a kind and made to last.
