Ceramic vessels possess an incredible beauty that extends beyond their utilitarian function. When creating my pots, my primary focus lies in form and silhouette. I strive to craft simple yet elegant vessels that stand as works of art in their own right.
My inspiration stems from classical forms, which I aim to reinterpret with a fresh contemporary aesthetic.
To achieve subtle surface variations, I use multiple types of black glazes, while the application of gold luster creates a striking contrast.
The pots are thrown on the potter’s wheel and fired at high temperatures, resulting in vitrification—the transformation of clay into a glass-like, non-porous material.
The gold decoration, known as gold luster, consists of real gold particles suspended in a liquid medium. It is brushed onto the glazed pieces and permanently fused during an additional firing.
