I make one of a kind and limited edition leather goods in my single-person New York studio, which gives me the opportunity to express my creativity and individuality in each bag. I start my design with the leather, which I purchase already tanned and dyed. No endangered species are used. I find inspiration primarily in the texture and color of the leather itself, but I also keep an eye on fashion trends. I make a pattern and cut the leather by hand. I construct the bag by shaping, gluing and stitching the pieces together. Frequently the leather is altered by color blocking, filigree cut outs, applique and top stitching. I also add unique closures and straps made of semiprecious stones.I welcome custom configurations of my designs and enjoy the challenge of marrying fashion trends, my personal design sense and the functional requirements of my clients.
