Annette Schiffmann

After many years of working with textiles I became a *paper-maker* about fourteen years ago.
Making paper means dealing with leaves and after some time I “turned over a new leaf”, *making books*.

I make hand-bound foto albums, sketch-books, visitors’ books etc., binding all of them in hand-made paper. Often the books are decorated with transparent agates, with slivers of wood, stones and other materials.

Some books look like books from the Middle Ages, e.g. the *girdle-book*. For others I copy the form of the *Indian palm-leaf-book*, adapting these old forms to our today’ s requirements.
