I seek out dramatic landscapes and skies that incorporate leading line and vanishing point compositional elements. Capture is with both IR sensitive film and filters and modified digital sensors. Negatives are scanned and raw digital files are uploaded to create high resolution digital files. Photographic software tools are used to minimally adjust the files to optimize tonal range. The resulting images are printed on a wide format Epson printer by the artist for maximum creative control on archival cotton rag paper. The photo prints are toned in the printing process to create a vintage look. Prints are hand deckled, and float mounted on 8 ply acid free matts and placed in natural wood frames and specialized art glazing. In addition to 4:5 aspect ratio prints, panorama format and triptychs that follow a common theme are presented as well. Placards are hung next to each piece that describe the image, often incorporating literary and mythological components. I believe that the infrared process, hand torn fine art textured paper, vintage toning, double thick matting and natural wood frames I use bring to the patrons of art fairs a unique and compelling body of work.
