My pottery begins with classic porcelain forms, then some of the forms are altered to give a more organic feel. This allows a certain control which best complements the surface treatment. The use of decoration on flat and round surfaces allows some control in the randomness of the firing. I have a love of art deco, architecture, and old science fiction- all of which I try to infuse in my work. All of my work is wheel-thrown and/or slab -built.The decorations are impressed. Colors are achieved by the application of surface stains and reduction. All pots are raku and sagger fired. Each piece is my work, completed without assistants or apprentices.
