I studied art at the University of Kansas where I was introduced to metalsmithing and glassblowing. I started my first art studio before graduating after discovering a passion for blown glass. My unique style started in college with a foundation in jewelry making, which later turned into much larger scale metalwork. My larger work incorporates sculpted metal and blown glass. I have always been inspired by how the two mediums complement each other and it has been a major focus of the work. The latest edition to my sculpture portfolio is the Meditation series. This work starts by blowing and sculpting colorful glass pieces. These pieces are then sand blasted and fire polished. The finished pieces are suspended on a stainless steel cable on an organic cast concrete base.
