All of these pieces are designed and executed solely by me. I work in my backyard studio on a lake in Oklahoma City. The process of layering colored and clear glass lends itself to creating the depth and distance I want to portray in the landscape images. All of the ‘painting’ is done hot, while the piece is still on the blowpipe. After the layers are built, the piece is blown and shaped. The pieces are either finished or trashed once the process is begun. There is no coming back to work on the piece later. This immediacy is well suited to my temperament and makes it easier to live one day at a time.
