Images catch you off balance and stabilize in the same moment with each painting emanating a powerful calmness. This style embodies immediacy and freshness which is evident in the restless, vibrant compositions. A process which is both additive and subtractive involving building up layers, then removing and adding, over and over again then finally scraping or carving areas of color to reveal the underlying story. A spontaneous expression allowed to develop organically which can also be described as sculptural. Color, texture and patterns come to life during this energetic and intuitive process.
